History's Dirty Secrets #13 Chicago Ron' England hunt.part 1
I coordinate and run a metal detecting trip to England 2 times a year. 6 hunters and I spent 3 weeks wondering the English countryside looking for coins and artifacts. We made some amazing discoveries. Join us as we get a few glimpses at over 2,000 years of history.
History's Dirty Secrets #13 Chicago Ron's England Hunt. Part 2
part 2 is the 2nd week and part of the third week. More gold, silver and artifacts. It's amazing to me how much is lost and waiting to be found beneath our feet. Almost everywhere we walk, and in England especailly, there is over 3,000 years worth of metal artifacts and coins lost or discarded just waiting for the prepared detectorist.
History's Dirty Secrets #13 Chicago Ron's England Hunt. part 3
The last couple days in the field. Silver and gold. Friday after dropping the boys off at the airport. Reid and I went to the British Museum. We saw the Staffordshire hoard, the Alton celtic gold coin hoard, Sutton Hoo, and the most amazing collection of gold Torc's in the world.
